~Should I Or Should I Just Stay The Same~

I don't think this question has anything to do with a teenager's health but I thought it would be a good question because it does kinda have something to do with health I guess.

Anyway, I'm 15 in High School and I was born from a skinny family on both my mom and my dad's side. I weight 115 lbs, but I would love to weigh more. I'm 5'5 and I have skinny legs and skinny arms and is athletic, so I have a little bit of muscles but not that much, and fast metabolism.

My mom said my metabolism will slow down when I'm 30 years old but I don't want to wait that long. I've always got picked on for being skinny since the 5th grade.
Sometimes I try to ignore it but deep down inside it really hurts my feelings. I don't say anything mean back because I don't want to hurt anyone’s feelings even though they hurt mine.

To me, doing that just makes things worse. I've told my parents about me getting picked on but they just say ignore them, but that’s harder then they think, especially for me. I would love to wear like capri's or shorts in public like every other 15 year old but I'm scared.

I sometimes look at other teens my age on facebook and look at how they are confident in what they wear and how cute they look in shorts and dresses and how pretty they are.

Not saying that I'm a lesbian or a stalker because I promise I'm not, but it really depresses me sometimes to see other teens in shorts and how confident they are and how happy they look.

What should I do? I'm so lost and don't really know what to do please help me.

I can't help you. Only comfort you. Consider yourself a very lucky person. It is better to be on a skinny side.

And yes, your mom is right. Your metabolism will slow down and you'll start adding kilos.
Now, you can eat a horse and you won't gain a gram. :-) So much about physics... LOL

Every one of us has some issues. Things we would want to change about ourselves.
That you are a skinny person is genetic.

Unless you would do something damn stupid you'll stay skinny for years to come. Though your wish is to have some 'shape' to it (body), some extra meat, it is better to wait.

There will be times when you will have difficulties to maintain your weight.

What is important however, others picking on you.
There are few possible reasons for it. Let's neglect the ones who do it for envy; you should know who would like to trade with you on the scale....

When it comes to boys, there can be thing like attention seeking. A guy is simply found of you and he wants to converse with you.
To tell you he likes you is too risky for him (what if your response will be negative?).

In order to keep around you, guys do silly things (exactly the opposite what they think), they just keep yapping and trying to show off.
He might tell you that you are skinny but the reason behind it is his secret hope to go out with you one day.

Test it. Spread around a word you would like to see an action movie but you don't feel like going alone. And wait. It is very likely you will get an offer from one of the boys who just was picking on you a while ago.

Play. Test. See. Things are not always the way they are presented to us. Behind the most stupid approach there may be the deepest desire to get close to you.
