Ok this guy I like, Tyler says he’s always wanted to ask me out but he doesn't want me to get hurt. He wants me to be perfect for him. So do I wait or get over him?

It is always good to make your own decision. However, from experience I can tell you, it is much easier to advice others than yourself. :-)

If we are involved in a certain situation we tend not to see it realistically and we have doubts if something bad could come out of it. So we hesitate.

Yes, we can never know what’s gonna happen. But we have to try. Sometimes we fail, sometimes we win.
If we don’t try we will never have a chance to experience the good part.

Now back to your question.

He can have many reasons. Some of them can be a fear of failure as well. And many others which I don’t want to tell you. Because if I would be wrong; it could damage your relationship.
So I better shut up.

Yes, if I were you I would ‘nail him’. Ask him out. Be open about your feelings and act upon them.
Encourage him to do same. To (express) tell you his feelings. That is the difficult part for young guys. They want to be ‘macho’ like.

But the only thing will happen – they will lack in all departments. You won’t kiss him if he doesn’t confirm its good in a way, you won’t take it further if he keeps backing off and not initiating conversation or action towards it.

So to speak, educate him slowly. Explain him that otherwise he will have to wait till he dies. He will never be perfect.
Love and sex are never perfect as well. Things like premature ejaculation, genitals shape and size will come into play. You need to deal with it. Study, learn, understand.

You both need to cope with life which is never perfect. Once you realize it you will be ok.
